I didn’t envisage I’d be doing household type blogs on this my beauty blog, but I feel I need to tell you about the flash mop, it’s that good! I love a gadget and off the top of my head I have the Vax carpet cleaner (love), Nutribullet (unsure), Homedics massage cushion (amazing), and I recently bought the Vax steam mop. I wasn’t impressed at all with the steam mop. Well, that’s not strictly true – at first I was totally in love – so easy to clean the floor without bending down (I previously just used wipes on my hands and knees), and quick to heat up. I did notice though that it seemed to just be pushing dirt around as opposed to removing it. I changed tact and on cleaning day I first cleaned the edges of each room with my wipes to remove most of the dust and any crumbs etc, then used the steam mop. Still I could see that it was pushing dirt around and it seemed to leave stripes where I had cleaned, and even worse didn’t get every mark off the floor. The Vax steam mop is now up for sale on my work notice board.
When I initially bought the steam mop, my best friend told me she’d not heard great things about them and swore by her Flash mop, so when I realised the steam one wasn’t for me, I headed to amazon to see about getting the flash mop. I was pleasantly surprised that it was only £18 for the mop & some solution and disposable cleaning pads. I’ve used it twice and I adore it! Now, I could be still in the honeymoon phase I accept that, but I really don’t think so – it’s just like my tried and tested floor wipes method except I don’t have to bend down! It is battery operated and you simply press the button to squirt some solution on the floor and then wipe. Simples.
The downside is the price of refilling the solution and cleaning pads (that look like giant sanitary pads by the way, just saying) but I don’t know how bad that will be until I figure out how long the solution lasts.
What do you use to clean the floor? Is that the most boring question you’ve been asked today lol, or like me do you like cleaning and cleaning products?!
