I went shopping on Monday to Marks & Spencer with a plan to buy one Stila brow product, the felt tip type brow pen. Instead I came away with 4! To be fair to myself, 2 of them are the same product (the gel in a tube) but just different colours, so I bought those plus the felt pen, and this pencil. I used it this morning and have had it on all day and can report back :0)
The price is £16 in Marks & Spencer and you have a choice of 5 colours. It wasn’t easy for me to choose the correct colour for me simply because although there were tester pencils out, they had all dried out so much that I could barely get a swatch. With them being fairly new that does make me wonder if the pencil will dry out before I’ve finished using it, particularly as I switch products regularly so it will sit in my drawer some of the time. The packaging is nice and is very similar to the Anastasia brow wiz and it is about the same size of pencil. i.e. very thin which makes it easy to be precise. The spooly is also identical – who knows, perhaps they were intentionally trying to dupe it so us in the UK had an option!
I should say that I have very sparse brows on the inner part of my brow – I have to draw in hairs or it looks very odd. The rest of my brows somehow got away unscathed in the “pluck till there is one thin line” era lol.
I loved how this applied today – it was creamy enough that I didn’t have to press too hard to get colour, but firm enough that I didn’t use up half the pencil in one go (like with MAC brow pencil!). I wondered if it would last all day, especially with me constantly touching my face and eyes (a bad habit I know), but it has lasted perfectly. I can’t say I did the best job of making my brows look natural this morning, but this is more user error than the product itself – I’m more used to using a gel or powder because I feel like you can easily get a natural result. I should also add that on top of the pencil I lightly used the Diago Dalla Palma brow powder simply because it was also new and the temptation was too much!
