I’m a sucker for a nice lip balm, but have struggled to find one that works well when my lips are super dry. I did a whole video comparing about 14 different lip balms and ingredients as I was on a mission to find a new super ingredient that would work for me. I didn’t find it!
Every time I mention lip balm or dry lips, someone mentions the Paulas choice Lip & Body treatment balm, but I just couldn’t bring myself to put in an order for only that. When I decided to buy the SPF45 day lotion (also a great product), I added on the lip balm.
My lips haven’t been uber dry lately so I hadn’t been able to test out its efficacy, until today that is. Last night I decided to put a salicylic acid cream on my face, and clearly got it too close to my lips as I woke up with very dry and sore lips. As I started my makeup I loaded them with the Nivea lip balm that’s always in my makeup bag but reapplied about 3 times within half hour as it just didn’t feel like it was doing anything. I then switched to the PC one and immediately felt relief and after a couple of applications, my lips already feel like they are on their way back to normal.
I do find it ironic that Paulas choice regularly talk about things in jars not being great, and a lip balm in a pot isn’t my favourite – I prefer a tube myself. It just feels a bit icky to keep dipping my finger in and lets be honest, we are not going to wash our hands before we use it every single time.
It’s £12 but you get a really big 14g pot that will last a while and this is a definite repurchase for me.
