I haven’t really been that bothered with makeup lately, favouring old known looks over new ones. I really need to get experimenting so I can do some more tutorials, but time and focus has been taken up with photography. I did however rediscover my love for this red scarf from fat face. Its amazing how a scarf can liven up an outfit.
So, photography has been an all consuming subject which really is my way. I’m an all or nothing girl. I’ve got a pile of magazines that I’m working through, a book, and I have been taking hundreds of photos which have shown me how hard it is to get a good one! I bought an external flash which I have no idea how to use yet, and a background stand and some backgrounds that look kind of rubbish in photos honestly as you can see the creases. I also downloaded a free trial of both Photoshop Elements and Lightroom to try and figure out which one to use for post processing photos. Elements is currently the front runner although again, huge learning curve and I’m going to need to dedicate some time to watching you tube tutorials.
My main problem with photographing my own puppy Watson is that his eyes never seem to show through all his fur, so I’m going to try and use a single point focus on his eyes next time. I have had several “doubting” moments about whether photography is for me. Firstly because it requires such patience and I’m a woman of very little, and secondly because my knee hurt like hell because of all the bending down – it’s the worse movement for my knee arthritis and leaves me limping in pain. Kev has suggested a swivelling stool :0)
I’m really so ready to give up my full time job now, and pretty much every day I wonder if I should just give them my redundancy decision now. However, I have until the 17th July to tell them and usually my sensible head kicks in which tells me its only another 4 weeks away and that’s an extra months salary I’ll get whilst still setting up other ways of making money. See – patience = none!
Here is my favourite photo of the week:
