Watson LOVES his new dog walker Andy, and so do I as he I get a nice relaxed puppy when he comes home. On his first day with Andy, he slept for 4 hours without moving a muscle! Andy was so sweet as he was worrying that Watson came back smelly as he rolled in fox poo – he even tried to wash him before handing him back. I really don’t care how dirty he is, as long as he comes back uninjured and tired :0)
Very scarily, there has been an incident with an Akita here this week – it killed a Spaniel and the police are now trying to find the owner/dog. So sad.
We have had a hard time trying to get puppy to eat anything this past week or so, and I’m hoping it just means he is a super fussy eater. You can’t help but worry though can you. I thought I’d found the thing that put my mind a little at ease when I started giving him puppy milk but today he doesn’t even want that – he loved it at first. He definitely seems to have a bigger appetite in the evening, so that may be just the routine that suits him best, one big meal in the evening.
Our vet appointment for the specialist has come through and is on Wednesday 1st July which was the soonest appointment we could get. With it being summer the vet is seeing many dogs about allergies. He is going to be there for 1.5 hours and they will do a series of blood tests and skin scrapes as well as a detailed history. Today he is itching the worst I’ve seen and we think its either because we reintroduced his fleece bed because he didn’t like the plastic type one, or because we gave him some of his prescription soya food that he loves.
I’ll chat to you before his appointment of course, but please everyone keep your fingers and toes crossed for us that they find what it is he is allergic to – these things can sometimes be inconclusive and in that case we have no real plan :0(
